Poll: Should the State take over hospitals owned by the Catholic Church?

THERE HAVE BEEN calls for property interests retained by the Catholic Church in hospitals to be handed over to the State.

Hospitals like the Mater and St Vincent’s in Dublin are among those owned by the Church. Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin said given the fact that the State is effectively now funding all of these hospitals, it is time any property still retained by the Church is handed over.
